Solubility is a relationship of physical change because the chemical makeup is not altered. This is a property of chemistry because water dilutes other chemicals. The phrase “like dissolves like” means that positive charged compounds react with positive solvents, and negative charged compounds react with negative solvents.

The molecules at the surface of a liquid don't have other like molecules on all sides of them so they cohere strongly to ones that are directly associated with them. Because of this, the surface makes a “film” that makes it harder to move an object through it then without that “film”. Because of the film is the reason why some small bugs can walk on water because they don't weigh enough to penetrate the “film".

This property relates to the water cycle because water dissolves most substance during the water cycle. When there is soil runoff or infiltration in the earth, then the water present will be dissolving materials that is reaches. It carries tiny particles of everything it dissolves and stays in the water.
