Compressive: strength:It´s better in the transverse direction.
Flextural strength: It's good, but better in the tranverse direction.
Hardness: this vary a lot, depends on the type of wood, the strucure ans the cutting direction. Generally wood is not very hard. perhaps its hard enaugh to be sturdy.
Toughtness: wood is tought, so it is used in sports equipment.
Thermal and electrical conductivity: It is very low. its a good insulator this is why is used to make handles for tools
Sound conductivity: is good. This is why it use tmake some instruments.
Colour: each wood have a different colour, they could be: white, yellow, dark yellow or brown, red, black etc.
Density: wood is a light material. IT has aslower density than water, which means that it floats.
