It occurs when the particles of a solid absorb enough energy to completely overcome the force of attraction between them<br><br>Sublimation can be important in the recovery of compounds that are suspended or dissolved in a fluid or a solid like dry ice. The compounds can be recovered, at least in crude form, by allowing the suspending matrix to sublimate away<br><br>sublimation is most often used to describe the process of snow and ice changing into water vapor in the air without first melting into water<br><br>Sublimation is used to purify compounds. It is especially useful for organic compounds. Because dry ice sublimates so readily, the compound is used to produce fog effects.</div>]]></description>
