trip in Berlin. We were there 5 days, from 10 to 14 April. We got up at 2.00 o’clock, because we had to take off at 3.00 by bus. With us were Professor Peressin and Professor Visintin. We arrived in venice at 5.30 and we had to pass the controls. Then we made a little break and we started off with the plane at 7.00. The travel wasn’t bad, but I had the flu and so the pressure mad me rush otitis. I didn’t hear very well, but I continued the trip. We arrived to the Schonefeld airport at 8.30 and then an another bus took us to the Mark Apart Hotel. We had to wait, because the rooms weren’t ready. I was with Nicole and Anastasia. Simone with Francesco while Maia was at home. We started the program immediately. Our guide was Tommaso, the founder of the Berlin color education. We took a walk to Berlin and we realized that are more new buildings than old. The oldest are in the middle of the city. The new ones are different from each other and they mark the division between East and west. We took a lot of photos, but we didn’t really have time for fun, because we had to walk a lot and make many presentations, and so to study. We were very tired and stressed. It was lunch time, so we went to eat at KFC in Postdamer platz. In the afternoon we saw a lot of monuments. For example, the Reichstag, the parliament that was burned by the Nazis in 1933. Today it’s the headquarters of the Merkel’s political movement.We walked on the top floor, around the dome, where it was possible to have a beautiful view of the city. Then we saw the Branderburger Tor, in Pariser Platz, the symbol of Berlin and where many famous people have passed, like Hitler and Napoleon. we saw the memorial of the Jews killed in Europe. It consists of concrete blocks of varying sizes. I felt sad, passing it, and confused, because it was a maze. Then we visited the area where it was the Hitler’s bunker, while above there are some remains of the Berlin’s wall. From 16.00 to 19.00 we were in the topography of terror Museum, where we divided into groups and we presented an argument. we had the Gypsies killed in Europe. Then we returned to our hotel, we had dinner and

then I, Nicole, Anastasia and Simone were in room all together until it was time to go to sleep. (Lisa)

They woke up in the morning, they packed their bags for the return, they made a good breakfast with wonderful donuts. Then they visited the Berlin wall starting with the Bernauer Straße, walking throught the border of East Berlin and West Berlin. Conrad Schumann was a german farmer and at 19 years old he worked in East Berlin for the Stasi (the police of the DDR). The 15th of August he was in the Bernauer Straße to control when the wall was built. After thinking a bit he decided to jump from East Berlin to West Berlin crossing the barbed wire. The second day we went to the Judisches Museum, where we try to be photographs and understood much better how was the life in concentrations camps during the Second World War. The museum is not a museum to explain how did the people worked in the camps, but it is to remember this horrible episode of the history. Then, in the afternoon we went to a jews school and visited the city and the zones where the people that was persecuted by Hitler lived. The weather was sunny and not too hot like the day before. We enjoy that day but we were very tired. (Anastasia)

After the came back to school, they told me that it was a magnificent trip and that Berlin is a town full of History and Art, but they told me also that they walked a lot and they got tired.

We went to Schönenberg to see the Urban Nation Museum. This museum contains many street art paintings. I really loved this place, because I felt at home. We did a group work that consisted in choosing a painting and exlplaining the choice. After that we went to Kreuzberg. We went to Prinzessinengärten (princess garden) : this is a botanical garden where all the inhabitants of Berlin can bring and exchange items.
In the afternoon we went to the Hamburger Bahnhof, that is a station transformed in a museum because unused.
In this museum find place works by famous artists such as Andy Warhol and Anselm Kiefer.
At 7 pm we went to Kudamm, that is a shopping center in which monkeys can be seen.
We went back to the hotel and at 8:30 pm we had dinner.
Then we returned in our rooms and we stayed together until it was time to sleep.

In this place the nazist decided what is called"The final solution against the Jews ".This place today is a museum of nazism ,here we worked in groups ad made some comparison between the Italian fascism and German nazism .We also listened to a historical witness that lived in those times. It was very interesting . After we had lunch .In the early afternoon , we went in a very big square that is called "Potsdamer Platz".This square is very big and very modern , it was built in 1990 by the SONYcompany . All he glass palace around this square were used as SONY offices . Today there are cafes ad cinemas ......Something interesting of this square is in a corner of it : in this corner there is a wall that belonged to a famous Berlin's hotel in the 20 th century called "Hotel Esplanade "(1908-1945)that was destroyed in world war 2.This is a part of the Hotel's ballroom and is still decorated as in the 20th century . It's very impressive!In the late afternoon we went to the most famous shopping center of Berlin called :KaDeWe . This is an enormous shopping center with 5 floors! Here there are many different shop: clothes shop , book shop , restaurant, ice cream parlour and others . It was very beautiful but also very Crouded! After that we returned to the hotel and had lunch.
