I learned to never give up hope because Kek never did, and in the end, he got what he was hoping for. Throughout the whole book, people have told Kek to not get his hopes up, but he did. He kept his hopes up hoping that he would see his mother again. Soon enough, it paid off. He finally saw his mom again.

Life Lessons from Home of the Brave:
1. Be you.
2. Sometimes you have to change something but that doesn't mean you have to give up on trying.
3. Never give up.

I think that it is Be you because in the book Kek continued to be African and held onto hope that his mother would get reunited with him.

The life lessons I learned from the home of the brave is... to never give up hope. I think this because earlier in the book on the Paperwork chapter they were talking about his mom possibly coming back, so Kek always held onto that hope without the story. He was right to hold onto hope because his mom came back!
