Turtles In The Dry Tortugas

There are actually five species of turtle that already live in the Dry Tortugas. Because of this, there were no adaptations to make. Since I was missing this part, I decided I might be able to make it up by writing a little more in depth about the turtles in the Dry Tortugas (Mrs. Burke, let me know if you would like me to do something else for the assignment). Turtles in the Dry Tortugas, specifically loggerheads, tend to eat meat. They eat shell fish such as horseshoe crabs, clams, etc. They eat these hard-shelled creatures because they have extremely strong jaws, but no teeth. Their beaks can easily crush the shells. I put a clam in my picture to show it as a snack :).

Many different species of turtles - most notably sea turtles, are almost everywhere in Hawaii, so I didn't have a specific animal from my project from Tuesday so I chose the sea turtle. They also already appear in the Dry Tortuga habitat because of them appearing in most places. Their adaptations are swimming underwater using their flippers, they use their beaks that help them to eat, and they breathe underwater with their gills. Their environment is living underwater which is very hot, and they can eat lobsters and crustaceans. They live in an aquatic environment and can lay their eggs and sleep on their nest just like birds do. Here's a photo of a green sea turtle down below:

Many people have dogs as pets and some have them as pets in Hawaii. But if a dog were to live near the Hawaii volcanoes as a wild animal it would have to adapt to its environment. First it would have to adapt to it being hot all the time. If the dog got hungry it has many options to choose from such as: fruits nuts and fish in shallow waters. Lastly it would have to adapt to the cliffs and rocky terrain.

In order for a Great white shark to live in the Dry Tortugas it needs to blend into it's environment as if it were a coral reef shark. The great white will find most of it's nutrients in coral reefs or other plants found in the same location. There is also a wide variety of fish found in the area as well. The great white shark will use it's bulky yet fast body to maneuver it's way around the environment, using it's large jaws to scoop up prey. Due to Dry Tortugas having the third-largest coral reef in America the Great white can use the coral as a habitat.

For this to be possible first I would have to give the koala gills so it can breathe underwater. So that the koala can swim I would give it web like features on its paws and then turn the koalas back two legs into a fishtail. Then for their food, since they are Herbivorous they could eat seagrass or possibly even seaweed.
