Biographical recount: These are the events within someone's life of usually extraordinary figures such as those who are successful in business like Steve Jobs, politics like Soekarno, or in art and culture like Thom Yorke or Aretha Franklin. The texts use sources from the person who is documented, their close friends, or any documented data like which studio they rented for albums. People make biographical recount to learn from the successful people and become successful in their own life. Biographical recount texts are not limited to success stories however, interesting although evil and unsuccessful people might be made their own biographical recount like Stalin to learn from their mistakes.

Folktale: Stories that are organized usually based on where they come from such as Timun Emas from Indonesia, the authors of these stories are not known but they are considered part of a countries culture. Most of the time they have moral lessons to teach about life within the story such as being kind to family.

a biographical recount is a documentary text that talks about someone else's life (usually an extraordinary people) that changed their life into a motivational and inspiring story for others. but however, not only successful people can make biographical recounts, unsuccessful people can make this as well in order to improve the mistake or to avoid the same things happening again. 

folktale is pretty much similar to a fairytale which was usually made a long time ago based on which region or race they're from. this kind of story usually contains a moral lesson to motivate the readers to reflect themself on what they have done to be better people. in my opinion, folktales were made because a long time ago they don't have a way or don't know how to express the moral lesson to other people for them to easily understand the point. different with our generation where we can easily browse everything on internet since technology has been getting better and better from the past few years.
