         <title>THE CHEROKEES</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>The Native American are the ones that discovered or found America. Also they were the first human being’s to live in America. The Native Americans were also referred to as American Indians. Most of the Native American’s lived in Oklahoma mostly because they were pushed to live there at a certain time because of the climate. A couple of things Native Americans eat are things like Bear fat and corn. They also ate any kind of animal as long as it was edible. The Native Americans were know to be a big part of christianity.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

The exact location of where the Cherokees lived is at 589 Tsali Blvd, Cherokee, NC.          <title>Theme 2: Place</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Cherokee moved to Oklahoma because it was dryer and hotter than where they were before. The language that the Cherokee’s use is called the Cherokee Indian Language. The Cherokee language is complex with soft sounds.<br><br></div><div><strong>Land forms</strong>: The Cherokee's liked to live among streams and river. The reason they wanted to live by streams or rivers is for the water. Not just water but also for food because they can catch fish and eat that for food to survive.<br><br></div><div><strong>Government</strong>: The Cherokee nation has operated a constitutional form of government since 1827. The Cherokee is the largest tribe in the United States. There are 320,000 Cherokee citizens.<br><br><strong>Religion</strong>:&nbsp; The religion that the Cherokees have is Christianity but they look at Christianity differently than us.The Cherokees had a strong belief that there were certain beings who came down from the skies that formed the world, the moon, and the stars.<br><br><strong>Economy</strong>: The Cherokee people got their meat from hunting and fishing which makes since because that would have to be the easiest way to get food so that you could survive.<br><br><strong>Language: </strong>Language-The language that the Cherokee’s use is called the Cherokee Indian Language.          <title>Theme 3: Region</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Physical</strong>:&nbsp; The land form that the Cherokee lived on was in mostly Oklahoma because that’s where they were pretty much forced or pushed to. The Cherokee originally lived in North Carolina. If you ever wonder how North Carolina’s was back in this time then all you have to learn about it the weather it has right now because the weather is still the same as it was when the Cherokees lived there. Also North Carolina has a tropical climate. <br><br><strong>Cultural</strong>: The Language the Cherokee’s used was called the Cherokee Indian language. The Cherokee language is a complex with soft sounds. Some art they would make are things like basket making. They would also make tear dresses and clothing such as ribbon shirts.<br><br><strong>Relations to other people:<br></strong>The Cherokee’s kinda had to get to know other groups because they were the largest Native American tribe in North America.          <title>Theme 4: Interaction</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Housing</strong>:&nbsp; In the winter the Cherokees lived in housed that were made out of Woven Saplings. A lot of the Cherokee’s houses were made out of mud and their roofs were made out of poplar bark.<br><br><strong>Clothing</strong>: The clothing that majority of the Cherokee woman wore were dresses also known with name of tear dresses. The Cherokee men wore a ribbon shirt which was the most popular for the men.<br><br><strong>Food</strong>: One of the main foods that the Cherokee’s ate was fish. This was the most common thing they eat because of how easy it was to provide themselves with it. All the had to do was first have a fishing pole which was pretty easy to make back then.          <title>Theme 5: Movement</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> <strong>People</strong>: The Cherokee’s originally lived in North Carolina and Georgia but as the life of the Cherokees went on they all kind of shifted to Oklahoma. Most of them were forced or pushed.<br><br><strong>Ideas</strong>: A lot of other tribes utilized knowledge from my tribe because my tribe was the most popular, not only that but because the Cherokees were the largest Native American Tribe and one of the first. So that’s why a lot of other groups or tribes learned from the Cherokee tribe.<br><br><strong>Trade</strong>: The Cherokee’s did trade. They traded with other southeastern Native Americans. What the Cherokee’s mostly traded were thing like pipes and pottery that were created by themselves.<br><br><strong>Disease</strong>: There was a disease that was spreaded by the Cherokee’s. It occurred in 1738, they spreaded a smallpox epidemic.
