Activity Structure: 

Introduction: This activity is a Role-Play Game designed to help students practice conversational English in a restaurant setting. The selected theme involves simulating roles commonly found in a restaurant, such as waitstaff, chefs, or cashiers. Students will use ChatGPT to practice conversations relevant to their chosen role, focusing on effective communication, vocabulary, and grammar. For example, a student role-playing as a waiter will practice explaining menu items, taking orders, and responding to customer inquiries. 

Instructions: 1) Design a restaurant theme and menu creating a specific concept with sections like appetizers and desserts, including dishes descriptions. 2) Choose a role and explain the scenario to ChatGPT. 3) Engage in a 5–10 minute conversation focusing on maintaining a natural use of vocabulary. 4) Stop simulation by asking ChatGPT for feedback on your performance.  

Practice: Review key restaurants related vocabulary and phrases appropriate for your role, commonly used expressions. Use the designed menu to simulate a realistic restaurant interaction.  

Feedback: Ask ChatGPT for a detailed evaluation of your grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure, highlight strengths and suggest areas for improvement. Identify at least two areas to focus on for improvement and reflect about challenges encountered during the activity. Share the conversation transcript with your teacher for additional feedback.
