Though it was shown as an eruption of everyday German people, it was quite orchestrated by members of the SS, SA, and Hitler Youth members.


This event was important because it sparked the violence towards Jewish people and their belongings out in the open. It essentially began the next stage (8) of genocide - persecution, next step is stage 9 - Extermination.
