Question 1.)Can you change your mindset? What is a situation where you heard a *fixed mindset voice*?

You can always change your mindset. For example when I took the PER-101 class for college success, I had a 100% fixed mindset and now, about 6 months later, I have a 100% growth mindset. I used to tell myself I was limited as to what I could and could not do. I believed fate was real and that it was against me. Once I realized how wrong I was, my whole world changed for the better. Me and Courtney both had a full growth mindset as results of the test. Shanita has mostly a growth mindset and has a hard time dealing with her parents fixed mindsets. Avia has mostly has a fixed mindset but she believes she can change towards a growth mindset. We overall all believes you can do anything you put your mind to.

Question 2.) Do you have a choice? Can you change the *fixed mindset voice* when you face challenges, setback, and criticism? How does this apply to your situation provided in question # 1?

You always have a choice. Your thoughts and your mind control your whole life so we must have a handle on them. When I face challenges and criticism, I take it lightly. I understand we all have our own opinions and that not everyone will agree but I do listen to critics if it can change me for the better. Courtney believes she has a choice. She does not respond to criticism with an argument. She listens and sees if she is in the wrong and learns from her mistakes. Shanita also believes she has a choice. She believes she can change her fixed mindset when she faces obstacles and believes that people that do not are not choosing to. Avia is also a firm believer that she has a choice. She has a fixed mindset when she receives critiscm but is working on changing her negative thoughts to positive ones.

You can talk back to your mindset with a growth mindset voice. You can counteract these fixed mindset voices with positive thoughts and never giving in to negativity. Courtney also says that you can talk back to your growth mindset with determination and believing in yourself. Shanita says she can also with self motivation and finding encouragement. Avia says that she struggles with talking back with a growth mindset, since she is mostly a fixed a mindset.

I believe you can take growth mindset action by believing in yourself. You have to fight these negative feelings with positive ones and become a very optimistic person. A growth mindset is truly believing in yourself. Courtney says you can take growth mindset action by completing every task given to your full potential and 150% for everything. Shanita says to teach herself new habits and teaching herself out of old habits. Avia says that she can take growth mindset action by understanding that she is just human and that we all make mistakes.
