         <description><![CDATA[<div>Before John Marshall was chosen to be in the supreme court he started his own law practice defending smaller cases such as pre-war British creditors. He was also the secretary of the state in 1800-1801. In his early years he served in the revolutionary war because he looked up to George Washington a lot. </div>]]></description>
