I have found that I like knowing a little about the kids who are coming into 5th grade, especially those who have struggled a lot. I've also found that over the summer, a lot of them mature and I don't have any problems with them. I like to have the background knowledge, but I can set it aside and allow time for me to make my own decisions. The only way they might is if there is a teacher who has struggled with previous evaluations, and is still struggling with me. As an administrator, I am ok with reading the and seeing the information as just one piece of the total picture.
