Pitbulls are one of the most negatively portrayed animals. They face many stereotypes and unfair judgement like being "too aggressive" and having to be euthanized or put in shelters meanwhile they are the least adopted dog, they have a tendency to stay in adoption shelters for a very long time in which they end up being euthanized. Many people don't want to adopt Pitbull's due to their stereotypical reputation. Pitbull's many behaviors are due to lack of training, socialization, and being abused. Like many dogs, Pitbulls can be made as great family pets. It is known to be important to socialize any dog with humans or other animals at a young age.

Pitbulls are one of the most common dog breeds used in gruesome dog fighting. The severe injuries that Pitbulls sustained while fighting can often be fatal, dogs often die during fighting due to injuries like blood loss, dehydration and shock (The Humane Society). This is the most common form of abuse among Pitbull's, training them to fight and be aggressive is what gives Pitbull's their stereotypical reputation. Pitbulls while they're not fighting in the ring still face many forms of abuse like being chained up to the wall, not being fed and being dehydrated.

Up to almost 40,000 American's participate in it, in the Unites States alone up to 16,000 dogs die from severe injuries due to dog fighting, they also undergo horrific training. Many participants consider dog fighting as a "Profession" or a "Hobby". People bet up to 100,000 U.S dollars just for the horrific fighting. In 2021 over 200 dog fighting Pitbull's were seized by police. Dog fighting is illegal in all 50 states in the U.S. even being a watcher is also illegal, as well as possession of dogs for the purpose of fighting is as well illegal. No kill shelters are a facility where animals are taken, rehabilitated, saved and adopted out to safe loving homes. the reasons why dogs are surrendered to no kill shelters are usually because their owner has passed away and no other family members are able to take them, financial struggles, homelessness and many more. some shelters use the phrase "No Kill" but they also don't live up to it. that's why its important to find a no kill shelter if you are surrendering your pup due to these struggles.

Anyone can help get rid of the stereotype of Pitbulls by adopting them, volunteering in shelters and advocating for them by educating others on sharing factual information and eliminating myths to promote a more positive image of them. Using social media is the best way to show the public how loveable these pups can be, sharing fun pictures and stories of well-behaved Pitbulls that are family pets. Pitbulls can be well behaved just like any other family dog, it's all about the environment around them.

Pitbulls and Parolees (2009) is a show that follows Tia Torres and her crew of ex-convicts, that are on parole, they rescue Pitbull's. in the show Tia states she rescues Pitbulls specifically because she believes in second chances just like with her crew, no one would hire them because of their past of being a felon, so she did. this show is a great way to inspire people to give second chances with Pitbulls as well as people. The Crew works at Villalobos rescue center, which is also a no kill shelter, where they house hundreds of dogs. Tia's crew also trains the dogs and help them get a stable loving home.

This is Frankie, the most loving pup I've ever met. He cuddles at night and gives lot of kisses, he is a Pitbull, English Bulldog mix. he is a part of what people call the "Bully Breed" I've never had a Pitbull before until Frankie. He beats all the stereotypes of being "Aggressive" and "Dangerous" because in reality he is just a big softie who loves every person he's ever met and smiles all the time. Frankie shows that as long as any dog is raised in a healthy, loving environment they can be the sweetest most loving animal. Pitbulls are a strong and energetic breed, you just have to have a firm and fair hand to train them properly and ensure good behaviors.
