         <description><![CDATA[<p>Begin with a Taught Session. This is where the Walkthru is intentionally and explicitly taught to teachers.  This is to ensure teachers have a clear and consistent understanding of the Walkthru and the 5 steps.  </p><p><br></p><p>Explicitly teaching the Walkthru will prevent ambiguity around 'what we mean by' when we talk about a Walkthru strategy.  For example, all teachers will 'know' how to Cold Call, but there may be variations and lethal mutations potentially impacting the quality of the strategy.  Teaching it explicitly, so there is a common understanding, will support the impact of the strategy on teaching and learning in the classroom. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Coaching - How to move on</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>When a coaching session is initially introduced the coach should complete all the 5Ps based on what they have seen in the videos, solely against the steps of the Walkthru, prior to the session.&nbsp; </p><p><br></p><p>Over time, staff take over the 5Ps - identifying the Praise, Probe and Problem based on the videos they watch as part of the coaching session.&nbsp; Coaches, at that point, will need to carefully select video examples that best capture what is being seen across the school.&nbsp; To bridge this gap, additional slides can be added, to enable staff to practice watching the videos and drawing out the Praise/Probe and Problem against the steps, whilst the coaches pre populate a slide with the Praise/Probe and Problem to look at after.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This will support staff in taking more ownership of the coaching sessions and their own pedagogical progress.</p>]]></description>
