I was in my last semester of senior year. During the 12th grade is when we are introduced to economics, which is something I felt to be useful for once. Besides the importance of literature, mathematics, and some science; I thought something finally useful in the real world. Learning about Econ made me think why these subjects that involve income and how to be smart with money on't get taught enough. I mean after we graduate, we have to start making a living for ourselves and all we've been taught is to write essays. I thought, "why doesn't our education teach us about more than just the basics of knowledge and expand to what the real world offers of us?"

Then I felt a lack of motivation and purpose in the things I was learning. And now that I am in college I have a different sense of edcuation. I want to be educated. In regards to the things I am learning it's all still english, math, and some other subjects of interest, but my posture is different. In high school the importance of these subjects was not iterated enough and so the priority was to simply pass. Therefore that is one aspect of our education that fails it's students and makes it seem useless. But, what if people were interested in the subjects and appreaciated them for the affects they would have in their development. Do the subjects have to be of interest for people to see their usefulness or does society just need to want to be educated.

Special Sauce: Interview

For my special sauce I interviewed my good friend Citlaly Balcazar who is currently in her second year at SFSU.

From her responses to the questions, there's a common pattern of English and Math being the most practiced in the day to day. As she stated that writing and communicating is what we live off on and well math means money which we use every day. Essentially, Citlaly appreciates her education and acknowledges that the process of education is different for everyone, so if there are flaws it's because we all approach it differently. I can agree with that being that for some people certain areas of our education cater them in the way they need and sometimes it doesn't.
