The book ”A Game of Thrones” is the first part of a book series of seven. This is not the first book from George R.R. Martin, but you could say it is the most famous. It took 4 years to write and it was released in America 1996. In the prologue you get thrown into the fantasy world of George R.R. Martin, with amazing storytelling, setting descriptions and interesting characters. There is many themes in this book but I would say the biggest of them all is ”Trust no one”. 14 years later of its first release HBO made a TV-Series about Martins work and it has won an outrageous number of awards and has been said to be ”The best thing you can watch on TV”. It takes place in a world called Westeros where Robert Baratheon is king over the seven kingdoms. The protagonist in the book is Eddard ”Ned” Stark who lives in Winterfell a village in the north where he is the Warden. When the Hand of the King dies, Robert calls out for his old friend Ned and wants him to be the new hand. The book is very long almost 700 pages and you get introduced to a lot of new characters, there are times you can not keep track of them all. Westeros is a big country divided into to Seven Kingdoms and has centuries of history.

Presto is a short animated film, made in 2008 by Doug Sweetland as a part of the Pixar’s short film series.

It tells us a story of a magician and his uncooperative rabbit. The film, set in the Vaudeville era, is purely comedic and I would consider it’s general audience to be anyone in the age range of 4 to 40, while mostly being oriented to 4–12 year olds.

The main themes of the story are giving back and helping others, even if your wishes are not being fulfilled by doing that. Interestingly, one of the goals of the film was to be reminiscent of old Looney Tunes cartoons, which are known for their often absurd comedic scenes and high-paced action.

I’ve read the book All the Truth that’s in Me, a novel written by Julie Berry and published in 2013. The story centers around a girl named Judith who disappeared from the fictive 18th century society called Roswell Station. The villagers tried to find her, but with no result. Then one day, she reappeared, but to everyone’s shock, she had her tongue cut out. When the village elders tried to interrogate her, she repelled their questions with a shaking head or the sentence ”I don’t know”. The continuation of the story revolves around her thoughts around the society as a whole and on Lucas, the boy she’s sweet on.
