I chose this picture as it says it all. Back in history the term "Red Herring" was actually a herring dragged across tracks to distract hunting dogs from the scent.

The red flag, Ancient Wisdom, is people's beliefs in ancient healings, sciences and technology. We have come along way since then. It is absurd for us to travel backwards in time, when we have much more knowledge today than that of our ancestors.

Connection:
This picture is advertising a wellness centre using ancient wisdom. This is a red flag stating that the ancient practitioners can help you more then modern day physicians. Here is a link to their website if you are interested in seeing it(http://www.ancientwisdomwellness.com).

The red flag, Appeal to Authority, is when people believe you if you look like an authority figure, example a person wearing a white lab coat. You could even have a formal looking cerificate stating you are a doctor and people would believe you.

Connection:
This advertisement for Camels cigarettes is definitely a red flag of Appeal to Authority, as this ad is telling us that if doctors prefer to smoke Camels then it must be okay to do so.
