Chemicals in your daily life have characteristics that make this useful, hazardous, or both. Some types of matter can be hazardous labels on the products or anything that includes chemicals. Looking at it gives you information on how to accurately handle matter. If a product has a sign label that looks like a traffic sign, the meaning of this is that it’s dangerous. If the sign label has a explosive drawing on it, the meaning of this is that it could explode. If the sign label has a corrosive drawing on it, the meaning of this sign, means your skin, throat, or stomach will be burnt if in touch or swallowed. If the sign label has a flammable picture on the product, the meaning of this is it could catch on fire easily. If the product has a picture of a poisonous drawing, the meaning of this is it’ll cause death if eaten or drunken.

Matter can be described based on physical and chemical change. Physical change of matter that does hit alter its chemical identity or composition. Chemical change of matter that produces new substances. Masses do not change when a chemical reaction took place. The law of conversation of mass carried out many chemical reactions where they measured the mass of the substances before reactants and after products. The mass of reactants= mass of products. In any chemical reaction, the total mass of the reactants.

I'll be explaining the meaning of each states of matter. Solid, can hold its own shape, and has a constant volume. Liquid takes the shape of its container and has also has a constant volume. Gas takes up the shape and volume of its container, and can be flatten/compressed. Plasma is the fourth state of matter, plasma doesn't have a define shape or volume. Instead, it has different electrical properties than gases.

matter is made of particles in constant motion. Scientists designed a model to test out theory about the behavior of all states of matter. The model is a verbal, mathematical, visual representation of a scientific structure. The theory had it supported by consistent results and not considered to be proven. All tiny particles also known as (atoms) cannot be seen under a microscope, and develop a theory of behavior of all states of matter: kinetic molecular theory of matter (KMT). The particles exist in empty space. Particles are repeatedly moving. Solid particles are very close and they vibrate. Liquid particles are very near, and slip and slide past one another, and attract one another less strongly than solids. Gas particles are far apart and more quicker in straight liners.

Changes in state effect changes in particle motion. When a state changes, matter transforms from one state to another, similar to how a liquid transforms into a solid or a solid transforms into a liquid. This occurs because the average kinetic energy of particles in a substance is measured. The increase in temperature indicates that the particles are gaining energy. The temperature changes when energy is added or removed from matter. When matter reaches a specific temperature, the particles gain enough energy to switch states.

Physical changes are explained by the kinetic molecular theory. The KMT describes how a solid dissolves in a liquid. A solid totally mixes with a liquid to form a solution when it dissolves. Diffusion is the passage of one material through another. Solids, liquids, and gases expand when heated and compress when cooled due to thermal expansion. When the temperature rises, the kinetic energy of the particles increases, causing them to vibrate quicker and move slightly apart.

Atoms are non-destructible particles that can't be formed or destroyed. Democritus supported his idea with logic, but not with experimentation. To prove the existence of atoms, John Dalton used controlled scientific experiments. Different atoms are joined in simple whole number ratios to generate compounds according to Daltons theory.

Niels Bohr researched electrons and showed experiments on light emitted by various gases, each of which created a different range of light.
