When alcohol was outlawed, some people realized the potential for selling it illegally. The roaring 20’s had a lot of drinkers in it, so they saw an opportunity in making money. Organized crime came about from prohibition because the criminals had to adjust the way they carried out their job from all of the money they were getting from selling alcohol. They would make partnerships with other gangs so they could work together, and they would hire accountants to keep track of their money. Prohibition forced criminals to think smarter and carry out their work more professionally in order to make a lot of money.
