There are overall six concepts of the Health Belief Model (HBM). However, there are 4 key aspects; perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits and perceived barriers. Perceived susceptibility is considered as a threat, due to ones own opinion in regard to them obtaining a condition which is based on their own behaviour. Perceived severity is also known as a threat for when someone knows the harm that an action can cause but still follows through with it resulting in a some condition to ensue a specific behaviour. Perceived benefits is another key aspect that outlines the positive outcomes, one being the reduction of the conditions risk or the harmful state it puts a person into. Lastly, perceived barriers results in another positive outcome which is done through ones personal opinion on the psychological costs of the action that is about to be taken. Overall, the Health Belief Model (HBM) represents the perceived threats and benefits. This is based on believing that ones person will take be able to understand their own health-related action.
B.P
