All's well that ends well with ENC 1101 by Ms. Chinelo

It's the end of the semester(almost). You made it! Let us look back on what has been ENC 1101 this Summer. Imagine you were asked to write an open letter to future ENC 1101 students, what would you say to them? You might want to tell them about the lessons, activities, projects that went well for you this semester and the ones that didn’t go well. You can also describe some of your most memorable aspects of ENC 11O1 so they know what to look forward to. Also mention what were your biggest challenges so they know what to expect. Lastly, be sure to share what you would do differently if you could go back. What do you think should be done more or less of?

I would say to future summer ENC 1101 students to understand that you are going to have a decent amount of work DAILY. Do the assignments because they are helpful to learning. The most challenging assignment is going to be project two. You are only going to have a week to complete it. It is a challenge, but you will feel rewarded once you are done. Enjoy your summer experience while campus is smaller.

With all this when I committed to Just Doing It, I found myself becoming a lot better and even excelling in writings for other classes.

Prioritize the daily assignments not only for time management's sake but for academic sake because each daily assignment enhances your skills or thought process about a major project in the class. Even if you are not the smartest student, giving your all in the small assignments will make you good at the big three assignments for the class. Use your individualism to your benefit because English and literature-based courses can be very subjective and do not be afraid to speak your mind. the best part of classes to look forward to is when everyone gets to peer review each other's work, saving people's grades a lot.

To future ENC 1101 students, one thing I would say about ENC 1101 if you take it during the summer is to not take another writing class because having 3 essays due in 4 days was tough :(, but I believe it prepared me well for future classes. IF you do take this during the summer though have fun with your assignments and start them early so you're not stressing because the work can get very overwhelming. My biggest challenge was managing my time and reaching the word count all while trying to give quality work. I don't think I'd do anything differently though because I did end up managing well and one thing that's memorable about this class is definitely the morning questions.

Every assignment, from persuasive essays to personal website, gave me the chance to experiment with various approaches and styles. Peer review proved to be especially beneficial since they provided me with valuable input from other students, which really enhanced my drafts. The most difficult thing for me to do was remember deadlines and keeping up with due dates. It was simple to feel overwhelmed by the numerous assignments and the additional class. Start early and divide work into smaller sections, is my advise. Your finished product will be better the more time you spend perfecting it. ENC 1101 offers a great chance to develop as a writer. Accept the difficulties, ask for criticism, and don't be scared to ask for help!

If you are not good with managing your time, and having work everyday, then welcome. It is not that hard if you push yourself to the finish line, so don't be scared. Listen, and ask questions if you need help, do not be afraid to be the person that ask for help, you will fail doing that. Summer B goes by VERY quickly, and you will be working hard to get that A if you want it. If you're okay with settling for a B, you will still have to work VERY hard, there is no room to slack, and only room for improvement; so be ready. There will be peer reviews, so you will get help from your peers and make friends. Good luck and most importantly, have fun.

Welcome to ENC 1101!

Greetings future ENC 1101 students. During the summer this class can be very condensed causing there to be less time to do work as you might be used to. Project 3 went very well for me because I was able to combine multiple learned topics from previous projects into one. Something to look forward to is the class playlist it allows everyone to add their personal aspect to the class. However, the process of finding sources and credible ones can be challenging but it is key to pick a topic you are passionate about because you will feel more connected to your cause.
