First of all, AWESOME! Tabatha was incredible and national teacher of the year is a dream! My biggest takeaway was the assessment used on families also! This gives teachers the opportunity to know their students more! I also really enjoy her routines and systems. Also, how she has the same expectations for everyone in her classroom. She was very inspirational and I enjoyed listening in!

I really like how Spencer started out that with each inference, you need an assessment to support and back it up. He does a great job explaining how he assesses and how each one is going to vary along with results. I also took away how each assessment truly has a different purpose. A student can be excellent at one type of assessment, but struggle with others. It is important to design an assessment that is flexible to our students. Lastly, I took away his advice of "teach to the test". Prepare your students and give opportunities to your instruction for students to learn.

I really connected to Brandi especially as I am a future SPED teacher! I think her assessment strategies were very beneficial as I did not know how the ones from general ed would vary to SPED on assessment. One of my biggest takeaways was her advice to future teachers. Do not let the outside perspectives change your view on teaching. You are a leader and a positive role model. I took that to heart and it made me even more excited for the future.

First off, I loved her definition of assessment. Having a goal and completing it is such an easier way to look at it and explain. I also like how she shared creating your own rubric based of standards. I have enjoyed creating rubrics and matching it the goal of the lesson. Rubrics are straight forward and students can also track their progress. I can tell already Kelly is a great mentor and coach. My biggest takeaway is her advice with routines. I am a big routine person, and want to held that up in my class. Students benefit off structure and it helps them throughout the year.

I really enjoyed listening to Andy! You can tell he is very passionate about what he does. I loved how he said the assessments happening in the general ed classroom with students, are just as important for every student. I really like how he shared how important it is to have a framework and it is a team job. You want to give everything to the student that you can, and working together is very important. "You are not alone". My biggest takeaway from this was the advice he gave to us future educators: "respect your impact". This helped me see really how important we are and the connections we make with students.

First off, Marsha was great! I really enjoyed her walk-about in her classroom. The organization skills, color coding, and process are all things I went in my classroom. She has a great system going, my favorite part of her class is the visual schedule. I think these are very beneficial for all students. I really like how she does her assessment hands on. Her first thoughts are how she can make it interactive for the students. I also really like how she shared her prep process by working ahead. My biggest takeaway was leaving your issues at the door before you greet your students. Make it your best day and it is theres also. Take in each moment and have a safe space for your students.

Wow! I really enjoyed listening! His resources were great, and definitely some I can see myself using or listening to. I thought it was really cool how he got to help with remote learning, as that was such a big factor for schooling the past couple years. I also thought it was great how he shared his past mistakes and how he had to adjust his assessments. It made me feel better knowing I am going to make mistakes, but I will grow from it. My biggest takeaway is how he shared his lesson planning. Breaking apart the standards and how to apply it. It helped me look into standards differently and I can see myself using this is my thought process.

I loved hearing Dena Steen her experience, her background, and everything she gave us! My biggest takeaway was not only her saying we need to make connections with students, but also the families and other staff member. Take the time to get to know your families and find out what the students love. It is so awesome how she attends her students activities / sports outside of the classroom. I also loved her advice about meeting with the parents if there is an issue, I have always been nervous about that, but her reasoning and her being nervous the first few times made me feel so much better! This was one of my favorites!

First of, love K State alum!! I really like how when she discussed assessment focusing on how the students feel about what they are doing and if they are having a good day. Her goal for all of her students to grow by the end of the year. That has always been a big goal for mine as a future teacher. My biggest takeaway was how she works smarter not harder by collaborating. Her sharing how her team build off each other and help shape her classroom and how each day goes. Team work is huge in teaching and I saw it being even a bigger impact than I thought through her video.

First off, she was great! I really enjoyed her video! I really like her definition of assessment and it made me view it in another way. I am realizing there are so many ways to view assessment! "Quick assessment, best assessment", which then drives into what to do tomorrow. My biggest takeaway was her summer school story! How she was able to assess students everyday. That seems like a very unique progress, where she then got to collaborate with her co workers on next steps for each student.
