The movie played so many songs by current and legendary musical artists. The lyrics and the expression of the songs by the artists made me think about the way average citizens gathered together to preserve democracy. Some examples are:

Another example that I can use for my classroom is the Great Depression and President Franklin D. Roosevelt's role in changing the economic climate of the United States. The movie stated that President Roosevelt was pressured into the New Deal due to the actions and demands of reform by the citizens of the United States. Our textbook portrays the New Deal in a different light, as a program the President came up with to save our country. This is another example of how I need to include the perspective of American citizens, not just the elected leaders our our country. There are always two sides to the story.
