<title>Talvivaara is a Finnish corporation that primarily focuses on nickel mining and operates its operations in Finland. It was one of the largest mining firms in Finland at the time, with a turnover of 231 million Euros (2011) and an expected operating income of 30.9 million Euros (2011)Talvivaara Mining Company plc (Talvivaaran Kaivososa osakeyhtiö Oyj) is a nickel mining company headquartered out of Finland. The London and Helsinki Stock Exchanges have both registered the company. The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) identified various mining resources in the districts of Kuusilampi and Kolmisoppi in 1977. Talvivaara went into default in November 2014 and was on the verge of being liquidated to fulfil the demands of its investors (mainly being various Finnish and Swedish creditors). At least 98 percent of the company&#39;s stock was devalued during this period, leaving the Mining Company with 1.4 million Euros in debt. Several spills of poisonous metal-contaminated water occurred over the company&#39;s lifespan, affecting both Finnish environment and rivers. Several Board of Directors members have been charged with criminal charges.</title>
