They are very interesting creatures of their own kind who always love to sing and dance. I find them very funny. Also, they can compose their own fantastic songs on any given situation and spot. This is why I like Oompa-Loompas.

From Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

I disliked Mike Teavee because he was a bad tempered and slothful boy.

He didn't have a bed, food, privacy, etc in his childhood, although he never complained. He struggled to study at school due to lack of food and energy, but did it somehow as he needed to study and make a name for himself. He always shared his food with his family even though there was not much. He never asked for more, he was always happy to what was given to him. Charlie was not a very strong boy, but still he struggled and managed.
