One of the reasons why our public policy and advocacy work, and our grantmaking in this space, became so convoluted is because the organization didn't want to risk advocating for measures that one or more major donors or corporate partners would find controversial. If we truly own what we stand for as an organization, the people who want to be part of that solution will follow.
