Also, the poet employed a variety of alliterations at the last words with simple phrases in the lines, such as "jungle-floored, meateater, raw", these gave an effect of emphasization of women's ability and lyrical feature. So it easily gains attraction and focus from readers. But in the last lines, the words depict the downfall of the women, creating tension by mentioning vigorous actions and critical weapons which arouses the mood of fear. However, these contrasts made the vulnerability of women more appearing. From that, we can consider Duffy's purpose to criticize the paradox of women as they appear weak and give up even they are strong enough to defeat men.
