With space debris, orbital debris or space junk we talk about all the rubbish orbiting around Earth without being reused in more useful ways. Fall into this definition debris of rockets, satellites fragments, paint flakes, dust, material expelled from the rocket motors, coolant released by nuclear satellite RORSAT and other small particles.

Space debris has increased dramatically in recent years, becoming a growing problem due to the high possibility of collisions with active satellites which in turn produce other debris following. This situation is called “ Kessler Syndrome”. The clash, even with small debris, can be destructive due to the high orbital velocity.

The problem about space junk is very interesting and it must be considered as soon as possible because the gravity can attract the giant debris masses and they can precipitate on Earth.

This matter could extinguish a lot of terrestrial species, as what happened to the dinosaurs.

This problem isn’t simple to manage because the atmosphere is very far .

There are  some radar sensors with lasers who are used to track space debris. However, it’s very difficult determine accurately  the debris orbits. Also there are objects smaller of 10 cm and it’s so difficult draw them  because their very small section  reduces the orbital stability. The maximum density of space debris is  at  an altitude of  1000 km. On this altitude orbits about  1 items / hm ³.

The space debris cause clash,  and a big one is  occurred on 22th January  2013, when  the debris caused  the explosion of the Chinese satellite ” Fengyun  1C ” and the nano-satellite “Blits” . The collision between the Chinese satellite and the Russian one  cause  the changes of the orbits and the rotation speed of space debris, so now  the scientist must  calculate the direction and the impact point to prevent other clashes
