Some symptoms of this STI may include painful urination, vaginal discharge in women, discharge from the penis in men, bleeding between and after periods, or painful sexual intercourse. An effect this STI could cause on the newborn or a pregnant woman would be preterm labor, premature ruptures, and low birth rate. Of course, none of these are good for the baby and could even cause the baby to pass away. The baby also becomes infected when it is passed during birth. The baby can develop eye and lung infections.
