En proposant :
• un espace de construction avec une multitude d’ouvrage.
• un environnement avec un confort optimal pour les étudiants et les chercheurs.
• un restaurant permettant aux visiteurs de se restaurer sans quitter la BU
• un espace d’exposition et un espace culturelle
• un espace réservé aux étudiants pour travaux collectifs 
• un espace formation 

Pour finir le projet se divise en 6 grandes étapes :
- Opération préalables aux chantiers immobiliers 
- Déménagement des collections de la BU SHS
- Ouverture d’une bibliothèque provisoire 
- Choix du projet architectural de la future Bu SHS
- Travaux de rénovation de la BU SHS
