The context, structure and how to develop the paragraph, it is very useful. I tried to find the way to summary the topic of the paragraph, It is easier and quicker to get the meaning of the text. But in week 1, I feel uncertain in the timetable and webinar session. Actually, I think webinar session is interesting to know other's work, but it is not very clearly to show the context and the process that I misunderstood the meaning of the artwork. In next week, I'd like to learn more about how to develop critical thinking and how to research in the useful way.

Using mindmap we can get the information very quickly and clearly. When I make the mindmap, I can relax and develop my thinking, and then choose the direction of further research from these keywords. If I left mindmap, and directly researched an inspiration, i might have overlooked a lot of interesting details without a comprehensive enough research.

And we knew the synthesising sources, we usually need use it in dissertation. after learning in this week, I am very clear about how to use the reference as the footnote and bibliography, when we read the text which may useful for reference, we need to remember the useful information and the pages. For academic writing, we need to use hedge. Therefore, I spend along tine to understand the different between claim and opinion. For example, “it has been argued” is a framing language， we need to write some claim after that. Actually it is very useful for me, when I write some paragraph, i always ignore the hedge. In Friday，we learned about the critical question. When we reading the useful sources, we need to give some critical question, it can really help changing the sources to the reference. If we use the critical thinking to read the text, maybe it will help finding the own idea and develop the idea more professional. The pace of learning this week is very fast, I need more attention to understand it. Actually it is very difficult for me, because I always use the thinking in the Chinese writing way. so in this week, I was focus on the structure of the english writing, I knew the structure of the paragraph include the claim, explanation, evidence and paraphrasing. It is very useful writing skills for my writing process. When I writing, fist of all I need to create the claim with the topic sentence, and then I need to research and find more useful sources and references to support my calm. I learned the introduction should be the last part of writing, and it include rationale, context, thesis statement. Another interesting thing in this week, that was presentation. We prepared the presentation basic our writing work, we shared the part of writing and some artist we used, and we tried to give the critical questions to group members, consider what is the critical and meaningful questions is really interesting. We had a crits in friday, it is a good chance to have communication with other group, and it is also make the experience for the MA study.
