A family of chickens will be brought. The students will collect the eggs. They will also collect veggie scraps in their classrooms to feed the chickens with. These eggs will then be put up for sale to create funds to grow a veggie patch. The veggies will be collected along with non-perishables (donations from restaurants) and given to families who need extra support

Food Security and Lowering Waste in rural school communities.
This project is connected to the 12th Sustainable Development Goal (Responsible consumption and production). The objective is to create a school community garden in a local primary school. This is also extended to families donating tinned or other food that they will not consume themselves before the best before or used by dates. We are applying for funding for the resources to make the garden. This will draw on parents' skills such as construction skills or green thumb skills.
The project will also focus on students' and families learning about sustainable growing practices.

Hannah Brickhill, Kylie Lindstrom, Rebecca Allan and Seisei Thein

We have chosen to create a PE alternative for students who are disengaged with traditional PE classes. Many of these students don't like the competitiveness associated with PE classes. Therefore we have decided to create Chill-Fit. This program provides these students with a fun and non-competitive alternative. The program will consist of 5 x 2 week physical activity sessions with different community clubs or programs. The five types of classes will be; water aerobics, self-defence, yoga, zumba and jumpz.

We have chosen the 2nd UNICEF Sustainable Development goal to address (Zero Hunger). To do this we have chosen to create a community kitchen. This community kitchen will need to be initially funded by the local council and will rely on community food donations from local businesses to sustain it. This initiative will run once a week from a location within a local school. Students from the chosen school will be responsible for a variety of roles such as cooking, serving the food and advertising the project. This community kitchen will be open to all members of the community for a $5 donation which will contribute back to the continuation of the project. This project will help students develop global citizenship and teach students valuable life skills whilst aiming to reduce and raise awareness of global hunger.

Amy Lord, Aimee Corken, Tayla Callaway and Alice Knight
