I'm so sad to see you go, but so happy for the opportunity that awaits you. Our time together was so short lived :( thanks for being so welcoming in my first few weeks in NYC, and becoming my #1 office buddy so quickly! I'll miss our daily debriefs, working together, 11am lunches and collaborating on connections.

You've made such an impact here both in terms of your work and the friendships you have formed. We will all sorely miss you!!

The good thing is now we can be non-work friends - please don't be a stranger! I'm ready to be inducted into the world of American sports/ Survivor and free food at Google.

But now, it's time for you to dig deep and embark on a new adventure. We're definitely going to feel your absence around camp, Shelbs.

Who's gonna step up and fill those big shoes you're leaving behind? Who's gonna keep the fire burning and the tribe united? Who's Slack messages am I going to photoshop? Who's going to cheat in NYT Connections? Who's going to tear me apart for using average steps and not total?

Although you left before the merge and won't be part of the jury, your energy and passion have set the bar high for all of us.

But it's time for you to outwit, outplay, and outlast. Take everything you've learned and show the world your raw talent, your unmatchable bias for action, your grit, your weak competitiveness, your analytical excellence and your amazing tribe spirit. what you're made of. We won't snuff your torch (Jeff doesn't snuff torches for quitters lol), our tribe's loss is another tribe's gain.

You bring rigor, empathy, and a deep level of consideration and care for everything you touch and everyone you work with that is rare to find in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment like DD. I've so admired your determination to advance yourself professionally and personally without losing sight of who you are and I hope Google gives you the environment to continue to do so. Shelbs, if it wasn't obvious, you single-handedly carried the SS&O NYC office culture in our little back corner of the office. I literally only came in if I knew you were going to be there at your window desk. I will forever be side-eyeing whoever takes that desk from now on.... in fact, I think it should be restricted from now on!!

While this is one good-bye from work, and a big congrats and well wishes for the next big adventure at Googs - it's also the start of our official IRL friendship (not that it wasn't kicked off the moment we exchanged numbers). I'm already looking forward to brunches, parties, reality tv show recaps, and book recs from my girl!! Not a see ya later, but see ya real soon.
