Inference: Singapore was caught in the struggle between Siam  and the Java-based Majapahit Empire for control over the Malay Peninsula.
Evidence:
In the 1390s, a Palembang prince, Parameswara, fled to Temasek after being deposed by the Majapahit kingdom. During the 14th century, Singapore was caught in the struggle between Siam  and the Java-based Majapahit Empire for control over the Malay Peninsula.
Inference: Singapore was defeated in one Majapahit attack.
Evidence:
According to Sejarah Melayu, Singapore was defeated in one Majapahit attack. He ruled the island for several years, before being forced to Melaka where he founded the Sultanate of Malacca. Inference:
The source tells that that trade was not the only form of trade being conducted and there was a presence of Chinese in early Singapore.
Evidence:
The evidence is that "Chinese coins" were found "on the slopes of Fort Canning Hill" when John Crawfurd "walked around the area of the ancient settlement of Temasek". This suggests that there were Chinese traders present in early Singapore using Chinese coins to trade.
Inference:
There were connections between China and Singapore. Evidence: The thing traded is made of porcelain, which was widely used by the Chinese to make ceramics, and the patterns on the shards of porcelain suggest that these were from the Chinese.

From examining the sources such as the gold armlet found at Fort Canning Hill as well as broken shards of pottery and ceramics, there existed traders from other parts of the world coming to Singapore to trade before 1819.
Evidence:
These sources tell us about the economic connections Singapore had with India, China and other  parts of Southeast Asia most probably due to the rise of Temasekwhich was caused by the fall of the kingdom of Srivijaya.

There were trading going on with India And Singapore.

The first Chinese trader to write about Southeast Asia was Wang Dayuan.
Evidence:
The first Chinese trader to write about Southeast Asia was Wang Dayuan, cognomen Huan-chang. He was born around 1311 in Nanchang, known in earlier times as Hongzhou, which was a prosperous port in Jiangxi Province during the Song Dynasty.
Inference:Wang Dayuan has travelled to 3 places of Singapore.
Evidence:
The first is Temasek, which refers to the general area of Singapore and the nearby islands. The second is Longyamen, which means “Dragon’s Tooth Strait” in Chinese.
