Vaccination children is the best way in order to protect ones child from deadly diseases that have been proven to kill children over the past hundred or so years. The reason vaccines are put in place is because of the history behind all of these diseases and causes of death in children, as well as the fact that you body can be immune to it as an adult because you kept up with the vaccines. The tweet was made to show how serious the situation has become. Young people are seeing the severity in not getting vaccinated whereas their parents are against it. These young people are choosing to go out of their way to get their injections so that there is not a case in the future where the catch a virus or disease that could have been prevented. This post is a bit inappropriate, but shows the anger in the voice of an individual whose sibling caught something because of another parents decision against vaccines. These diseases can be deadly, but in this case this young boy got brain damage and pertussis. The measles vaccine has saved approximately prevents two to three million deaths annually, yet parents fear vaccines and look down on them. The question for this posting was, "Ex-Anti-Vaxxers of Reddit, what made you change your mind?" An answer to this question was a person who followed the Messianic Jewish religion and was taught to be anti-vax. As this individual grew up they became a scientist and learned all about vaccines and the effects of them. This individual clearly states that they were being 'ignorant'. In the end the individual states "God gave man an amazing brain and vaccines are literally life-saving medicines that I should be thankful for." This journal was shared across Twitter and spark a conversation on how infants have immune systems that respond to these vaccinations, but in a positive or negative way depends on many factors. They state that around 90% of infants develop active protective immune responses to the vaccines given between 2 months and 6 months of age. The overall idea is that some children will not have strong, protective immune systems because of the way their body was created, but it can be built and strengthened over time. Social media struggled to find the line between free speech and protecting the public, given the young ages of the users. The overall idea is that there is fake news everywhere and no one can stop it from happening. This post puts the situation into a funny yet real position because people genuinely choose to not vaccinate their children because they think doctors are wrong or lying to them. The comments then move on to an individual saying that they've never been vaccinated and they're fine, which another person writes back that that was a compelling argument. In other words, it doesn't matter if you're alright now, but it matters in the future when you have children and their immune systems aren't built yet.
