         <description><![CDATA[<div>I thought the novel did a very good job of showing life before the missionaries arrived to provide an insight into the Ibo culture, maximizing the effect of the missionaries taking over their culture. We were able to connect with the African perspective which most other literature is unable to do.</div>]]></description>

The white men viewed the Ibo people a certain way, but the Ibo also had their opinions on the white men. Neither culture was willing to learn from the other, demonstrating the downfalls of stubbornness. </div>]]></description>
