Total Excavating is hosting a fundraiser on behalf of Travis Ostby and family.

Travis, a loving son, father, husband, brother and friend, is fighting a battle with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. He's the type of guy who would drop whatever he's doing to help family and friends in need. Travis wouldn't hesitate to give someone his last dollar or the shirt off his back. He always looks for ways he can help others, and now it's our turn to help and support him.
Travis' fight with cancer began in March 2017, when he had a Melanoma spot removed from his left cheek. He and his family thought everything was going to return to normal, unfortunately that was short lived. On March 5, 2018, Travis went to the doctor after experiencing pain in his left ribs. Due to his history of Melanoma, his doctor ordered various scans to be performed. Those scans revealed that Travis' Melanoma had spread creating lesions on his liver, lungs, ribs and 4th cervical vertebrae. On March 7th, Travis had a biopsy on his liver to confirm, the very unfortunate, Melanoma diagnosis. On March 13th, Travis and his wife, Katie, met with Oncologist, Dr. Mescher, at which time Travis was given a diagnosis of Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma.
Travis's treatment plan started on March 27th, with Immunotherapy treatments, which he will complete every three weeks for three months. After this cycle of therapy, Travis will have an infusion once a month, until his body rejects them.
After starting his treatment plan, Travis had an MRI of his brain. The MRI scan showed Travis' Melanoma spread and caused lesions on his brain. On April 10th, Travis received stereotactic therapy for the brain lesions.
On May 23rd, Travis went to the hospital, due to having a fever and pressure in his head, at which time he had additional MRI and CT scans. Unfortunately, the results determined Travis had a few lesions on his liver that grew, and the Melanoma had spread to a lymph node in his stomach.
On May 31st, it was determined that Hudson Hospital was no longer equipped to handle the level of care Travis requires and he was referred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Doctors have told Travis that his cancer is aggressive and they need to act aggressive with treatment.
Travis is a fighter and he will continue to fight. This has been a long road for Travis and his family, but we have hope for a positive outcome!!
Travis has been employed for 20 years by Total Excavating, in River Falls, where he is a very well-respected Project Manager.
