This was of particular importance given the fact we were located in different continents across different time zones.
Our shared theme ‘The ground on which we stand’ served as a foundation on which to develop both our collaborative and individual outcomes.
 
We sought an enhanced understanding of our local and personal Habitats through photographic exploration on foot, at ground level. 

Step by step our route was defined by our immediate response to each changing scene- this emotional response was informed by all of our sensory inputs – visual, auditory, olfactory (smell), touch and even taste if we wished- and by our adherence to maintaining 2m distance from others. 

In keeping with spirit of psychogeography, as ‘urban wanderers’ we allowed our geographical location to have an impact on our emotion and behaviour and guide our ‘drifting route’.

We chose to explore a sense of scale and our span of experience in looking at
1. 'microcosms' as they emerged - all the time seeking connections with the landscapes of other group members: the ground level view represented personal experience and 'microscopic scrutiny' 

2. the aerial views -achieved through review of satellite photography and photographic images removed of context,  were more representative of the need for global connection and a greater overview of the world we live in, despite the restrictions imposed by the current pandemic.

So I limit myself to my building and its courtyard for this project. 

However, it was interesting be restrained and have a small space, already defined but it really allows me to rediscover my environment, an exploration of routine through a more microscopic photo investigation
