Value their cultures and understand the "who". Use other bi-lingual students to buddy up. Provide visuals during lessons. Try to encourage students share their language.

Have options available in Spanish to aid in transitions until the student is comfortable. Start/create closer school/family environment where children are free from ridicule. Require all teachers must speak basic Spanish to be certified to teach! Duh! Support, support, support!!!!!!!!! Funding, funding, funding!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a buddy. Modified assignments. Provide classroom teacher with visuals to use in regular classroom. Continue to positive communication between ELL team, classroom teachers, and parents. Provide strategies for classroom teachers how to better communicate with ELL students.

More visual learning... engage in different ways. Pace yourself, don't overwhelm students who are already overwhelmed. Don't make assumptions! Bilingual buddies. Have them do more.... performance assessments instead of tests.... hands on.

Have peer buddies to allow students someone to go to for help.

Allow time for students to work on homework at school.

Provide use Spanish translation resources at school.

Providing picture models for commonly used words to help with understanding.

Shorten the amount of work for these students so they aren't overwhelmed.

Students need to be taught how to respect other students learning abilities. Teacher can front-load vocabulary for students. Use hand and body gestures to communicate more clearly.
