This collaborative exploratory research broadly examines the application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in higher education after the COVID-19 pandemic, involving faculty from Tarsus University (Turkey), the Military Academy of Argentina, and Cag University (Turkey). Within the research frame, my study highlights how Argentinian educators perceive themselves in technology-enhanced environments, emphasizing AI's potential to relieve teachers from routine tasks, enabling them to focus more on creativity, problem-solving, and talent development. As a researcher from Argentina, I surveyed 35 educators about their awareness, usage patterns, and perceptions of AI tools. Results indicate a significant increase in AI awareness from 2022 to 2023, with 68% of respondents recognizing ChatGPT as the leading tool. Educators primarily utilize AI to create teaching materials (20) and conduct research (17). Almost 94.3% reported quicker information searches. While 17.46% see AI as practical, 63% believe it won't replace teachers, viewing it as a complementary tool to enhance teaching.

The Military Academy of Argentina has been addressing the academic implementation of AI tools and strategies. The training programme, based on the premise that generative AI can enhance people's skills, free them from routine, repetitive work and allow them to focus on innovative teaching strategies, is deemed applicable throughout the world. This resulted in the planning of joint work between two universities to learn about and analyze the experiences of their teachers with the AI while delving into the likely changes in teaching due to these tools.

Findings reveal a significant pattern in AI awareness, with participants first learning about AI surging dramatically from 2,9% to 68% in a couple of decades. The COVID-19 pandemic saw this awareness fluctuate between 2.9% and 8.6%. Perceptions of AI efficiency and satisfaction varied widely, with the largest group valuing AI as a practical academic tool. Equal proportions praised AI's efficiency or expressed insecurity about it, highlighting its polarizing nature. Several positive perceptions emerged around creativity and contextualization, time optimization, and comfort. Similarly, a small amount of teachers valued AI's speed and organizational capabilities, while an equivalent percentage expressed caution about its experimental nature. Notably, almost no participants acknowledged the usefulness of AI tools for their students or as a strategy for students' work. This can be aligned with the fears expressed about the risk of losing their jobs to the AI.
