         <description><![CDATA[<div>If 10% of an organism's energy at a trophic level transfers to the next trophic level, it uses the 90% of energy that isn't transferred. The organism uses 90% of its energy to live, grow, and reproduce. A producer like a plant would harness energy from the sun to photosynthesize and make glucose. Glucose acts as food for the plant and is used to give it energy to live, grow, and reproduce. For example, a plant has 100% energy. It uses 90% of its energy to conduct photosynthesis to make glucose for itself and oxygen for other organisms to breathe. The plant would also use its energy to conduct cellular respiration to create energy (ATP) for it to function and live properly. The 10% is used by the next trophic level, the primary consumer, when it eats the plant. In conclusion, an organism uses 90% of its energy to live, grow, and reproduce, while the 10% is transferred to the next trophic level to do the same.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe that the rest of the remaining energy is to be used, In a process like warming the body or reproducing, and doing activities like gathering food. For example a animal like a Desert Woodrat uses energy to dig burrows. Other organisms like plants use energy to get from the sun to produce photosynthesis which produces food for consumers. Also for decomposers they can use their energy from the dead creature to take out the valuable and needed nutritions to live.Also animals like Tertiary consumers Use the energy to raise young ones or reproduce or hunt more food, and do things like warm their own body since they’re warm blooded creatures unless they are reptiles or fish. That was my theory on where the 90% of the energy from other animals in the food pyramid goes.</div>]]></description>
