How do you go about bias when it comes to gathering demographic data? The data that you collect can be quite specific to the outcomes that one wants, which can filter out a lot of good, useful information that may or may not be relevant, how do you go about navigating that?

I used to work at a non-profit that received grants, and a ton of our grants were related to the demographics of our participants, but we had a ton of participants that were middle eastern that identified as white on paper because of stigma and persecution. How would I now as a grantor take demographics that may not acutally align with the needs and wants that we have, work with a potential grantee in this situation?

A great amount of wonderful information was shared about the application and review process that was outside of the details on the slide and the speed of presenting made it difficult to follow, digest and take notes.
