Building were initially intended to be for upper class white citizens but the blacks moved in and prompted others to do so as well which helped transform the hood

Harlem became a well known place and home for blacks of all backgrounds

Many artists flocked to Harlem as well focusing on the black story

writing soon became very popular because people relied on print media and poetry for word to be spread

Harlem emerged during the jazz age and with jazz being a music invented by black musicians it became one of the staples of the renaissance

with Harlem renaissance ending long ago many would think it would have died out but its legacy is still going today
