From joining this community, she soon made more activists groups collaborating with an avitivists named Cesar Chavez. The two came together to make more community activist groups to support the ones in need in New Mexico.

They believed it wasn't possible because all the people they saw in Hollywood were white. The only roles America found were stereotypical and racist. She was even told to talk more "latina". It seemed everyone who told her it wasn't possible was right. She struggled in the film industry simply because of her identity. So, she started to view her identity as the problem. She came to realize that it's not her who is the problem, it's the industry and their standards, standards that were racist.

Moving forward the Nixon administration settled on, "Hispanic" meaning someone who is connected or cultural link to Spain. However the connection with Spain was being re-examined since not many people in the community identified themselves as European or Spanish. So todays generation a new word has emerged, "Latinx" the term focuses on gender politics to include people who do not identify as themselves Male or female hence Latino and Latina.

There isn't actually a correct term and there are reasons for all of them existing. Hispanic was the original term that the government created as a category since only black and white wasn't enough. But, this term is related to Spain, a lot of people in the Hispanic group aren't from Spain so that became a problem. People started using Latino and Latina to refer to themselves. But then the problem was that there wasn't a gender neutral term. So then people started using the term Latinx. But, once again there's a problem. The X doesn't really make it a Spanish word anymore. So, there's another gender neutral term, Latine. People have personal preferences on what to use and might even use all. A lot of people don't even care which term people use.
