It helped me realize how many steps that people had to take in order to be where I am. It showed me that I am not just here and that's it, it showed me that people had to work in tough conditions, take steps out of there comfort zone, and make sacrifices. Coming to america is not just arriving here, it's about the journey and the events after you arrive. And america is does not always have there arms open.

I also learned that I am a pretty good talker, meaning that I don’t say like and or um a lot when I’m talking about something that I enjoy or know a lot about. I am pretty decent when it comes to giving feedback, whether that's positive or negative.

Last year I did a small project on the Irish potato famine, which turned out to be useful because my grandma said that our ancestors moved to America because of the Irish potato famine. Other than that the most of it was background knowledge.

State Government

Most of Wisconsin’s revenue comes from income tax. Three branches of government Legislative, Executive, and Judicial (Just like the national government structure). The Executive branch is headed by a governor which is charged enforcing the states laws. The state provides many things such as road servicing, park construction and maintenance, as well as many other services like managing state parks.

County Government

The county Government provides many services such as road construction and maintenance, money allocation to projects, as well as county police officers, and courts. County government enforces County ordinances. The county governments receive most of their revenue from sales tax as well as property taxes. The county spends their money on employee payment, and road construction and maintenance.

City/Village Government

The city and village governments provide water and sewage services to its residents as well as park construction and maintenance, and police and fire coverage. City and village governments get their revenue through smaller taxes such as gas tax, as well as other small taxes. They spend their respective revenue on paying employees, the construction and maintenance of roads and parks as well as city and village building maintenance.

School Districts

School districts provide little to residents aside from education and public useable land. School districts receive their money from the city, county, state, and national governments. They use this for building maintenance, paying of employees, and the purchase of new equipment for the school. Schools are required to meet national and state learning standards in order to continue to receive funding. Schools have many regulations exposed open them to better standardize the education system of america.

Native American Governments

There is a very large degree in variation between the governing of different Native American tribes. Native American tribes are required to be recognized by the national government in order to be self governing. Even though the Native American tribes are self governing they are still required to meet some state and national laws that affect all people within the USA. Tribes receive money through their own funding efforts which may include building a casino or other means to attract people to spend money within there land.

The DBQ Essay was a challenge because it involved analyzing multiple documents, making a claim, then applying that new knolage to write an essay that answers a certain question. We were required to meet certain criteria, which as did, and make sure that the information that we recorded was arguable.

Letter To A Congressman

This was a Project in which you chose a congressman/congresswoman and wrote them a letter about an issue that was concerning. I wrote a letter about Net Nutralita, as it is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. I did get a response supporting the idea that I had mentioned which told me that the letter that I sent was well understood, as well as worthy enough to be written back. This project was a challeng because I was required to find a topic that was interesting to me, as well as a current issue in the law making progress.

The podcast Project was one of the most, if not the most challenging project/activity of the entire year. I spent many hours attempting to contact NASA (National Aeronautical and Space Administration) to discuss the governments involvement in NASA’s budget and what US citicins can do to help NASA. But unfortunately I was not able to contact NASA effectively, because they did not want to be interviewed. So then I had to scrap all of my pre prepaired questions, topics, as well as scripts. I switched to interviewing Wisconsin representative Pat Snyder, and spent many days keeping in constant contact with him in order to get an interview. I then pre prepaired even more questions, topics, and scripts. Then I recorded the interview, which was the easy and fun part. Then Proceded to edit the entire podcast, which took at a minimum of 5 hours in order to make sure that my podcast was the highest possible quality.
