"It takes 10 times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart." - Finnick Odair pg. 156

This quote is important to the story line because I feel like Katniss really lived out this quote throughout the book. At the end of Catching Fire Katniss had pretty much "fallen apart". Her home was gone and many that she loved were killed. She spent a lot of the time putting herself back together during this book. Even though this time brought more and even harder challenges for Katniss, she grew, became stronger, and eventually became whole again.

"You're still trying to protect me. Real or not real," he whispers.
"Real," I answer. "Because that's what you and I do, protect each other." - Katniss Everdeen pg. 382

This quote is very important because it shows the relationship between the most important people in the series, Katniss and Peeta. They faced many hardships and brokenness in their relationship, but they always loved each other and their goal was always to protect each other no matter what.

I just wanted to tell you how much I love your series the Hunger Games! I just finished Mockingjay and was so sad that the books came to an end. The book constantly had me intrigued and I wanted to spend all of my free time reading it. My favorite characters are Katniss, Peeta, and Finnick. ***The whole thing with Peeta's mind being hijacked in Mockingjay*** made a really good book, but it also made me very sad because for most of the book he wasn't the Peeta Mellark all of your readers know and love! I did enjoy the ending though! I thought that you did a great job ending the book because it didn't end exactly happily ever after, but Katniss and Peeta were still happy together. ***I was very sad when Boggs, Finnick, and Prim died!*** They were all such good characters in the story, but their death did spark the climax and intruge me more! I really enjoyed reading the epilogue as well and LOVE that ***Katniss and Peeta had kids and started a family!*** I think that it would be cool to have a new book that is kind of like a sequel that may be a little shorter and just explains their life now and how it is with their family.

Power is a big topic in Mockingjay. Throughout the book the districts are fighting the Capitol to try and gain control. At the beginning the Capitol has all of the power and is reigning over the districts with evil. They make them work way too hard and live in terrible condidtions just so the people in the Capitol get what they want all of the time. Their power is evil, but the power that Katniss and her allies are trying to obtain is good. They work throughout the whole book to take down the Capitol, kill the president, and ultimately rebuild their country into something better. This is not an easy task - passion, dedication, and especially sacrifice somes with it. Katniss and the other characters have to scarifice themselves, their family, friends, and all of the things that they love the most.
