I also felt like I had to fit in with the "popular kids" so yes, I tried to fit in by doing what others did. I learned a lot how their is a lot of drama that happens and to avoid it, We went hybrid for the second half of my Sophomore year because the pandemic had started, the end of that school year was rough on a lot of us with a lot of unknown answers. That year is where my anxiety got worse with a lot of the unknown. It went back to a some sort of normal year for me. I really focused on school and work. tried to participate on every senior event.
