How was the works and Jobs like in Singapore before 1960?
There were Chinese coolies such as rickshaw pullers, and working in construction sites. There were artefacts of rickshaws which shows that there were rickshaw pullers in 1960
Most of the coolies were forced to work and were often exploited and abused by the coolie brokers, therefore, the work is hard.

Before the western culture broke out and influenced the crowd that jumped on the bandwagon and started to wer fashionable clothings. Obviously, the Chinese were mainly into the Western-style fashion. As shown in the picture below,
