Consider the ways that the readings and activities for the course have helped you deepen and think through technology, teaching, and learning in each commonplace. Add a note below the appropriate commonplace connecting one of these experiences and describe how it helped you. Also contribute one *outside resource* (webpage, video, etc.) that you have found helpful.

The article that added and deepened my thinking of milieu was "How Important is Technology in Urban Education?" by Vanessa Domine. This article supplemented my knowledge of milieu by understanding the environment you are teaching in and utilizing the technologies that many students have access to. Many rural education schools have access to WiFi at home, computers at their disposal, and even have cell phones. This helped me think through technology, teaching, and learning by thoroughly understanding the social context I am in and making the most of what can be used. Some students may not have the access at home as they do in school so immersing the students in this technological world that we are growing up in is essential even if it is in the smallest ways. Another resource I found helpful was https://www.thetechedvocate.org/how-to-close-the-digital-gap-in-urban-districts/. This was helpful to me because it gave many educators including myself to bridge the divide for every student regardless of their location.

An article that helped further my knowledge of learners through technology, teaching, and learning was "Teacher value beliefs associated with using technology: Addressing professional and student needs" by Anne Ottenbreit-Leftwich, Krista Glazewski, Timothy Newby, and Peggy Ertmer. This helped my understanding of acknowledging the learners needs through technology and how it can not only be one sided for benefitting (whether it be the teacher or the student). Another resource that helped was https://www.classcraft.com/blog/how-has-technology-improved-education/. This helped me by seeing many different areas it helps students whether it is with communicating with their parents how they are doing or utilizing project based learning which helps students truly understand the content better.

The reading that helped supplement my knowledge for the commonplace of teachers through technology, teaching, and learning was "Using Cultural Historical Activity Theory to Uncover Praxis for Inclusive Education" by Christine Hancock and Amanda Miller. This article supplemented my knowledge because it mentioned many things such as the model CHAT to uncover issues with teacher preparations and how it can effect the overall learning for the students. This helped me because it allowed me to be able to dissect my lesson plans by looking at the social context, environment, and history in sharing experiences among peers. An outside resource that I found helpful to add to my knowledge was the webpage https://www.edsurge.com/news/2019-10-15-how-tech-can-engage-students-simplify-the-school-day-and-save-time-for-teachers#:~:text=Technology%20Helps%20Teachers%20Engage%E2%80%94and%20Save%20Time&text=Apps%20such%20as%20Edgenuity%20and,school%20board%20has%20a%20smartboard. This resource helped me understand the importance of implementing technology into the classroom, while using it efficiently.

A reading from class that helped deepen my thinking in subject matter was "Five Things We Need to Know About Technological Change" by Neil Postman. This helped deepen my understanding because specifically of the second idea of trade offs. With my subject being mathematics it often becomes a lot of written work, but this idea of trade offs helped deepen my understanding of how to know when to use technology and when it is best not to. In addition, also knowing when it is supplementing the content of mathematics, or if it is taking away from it. Another resource I found useful with technology and mathematics was https://www.edutopia.org/article/effective-technology-use-math-class. This helped because it provided a diagram of the TPACK framework, which I was unfamiliar with and aided my knowledge of combining technological knowledge, content knowledge, and pedagogical knowledge.
